DESCRIPTION            

This course is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual to become competent as Automobile Mechanic NC III in accordance with industry standards. Upon completion of this course the graduates will be able to work in automobile workshop where they can perform service like engine overhauling by maintaining proper career professionalism and safety

To obtain the qualification of Automobile Mechanic NC III, all learning outcomes prescribed for this qualification must be achieved.

  424 hours [288 hours ( Institute Training) + 136 hours (OJT)]

ENTRY  

REQUIREMENT                         

 

·         Automobile NC-2 course completed

·         Copy of  Valid CID

·         Copy of  Valid Security Clearance certificate

·         Copy of  NOC for in-service  candidates

·         Copy of  NC-2 Certificate

·         Copy of Medical fitness certificate

COURSE OBJECTIVE                         

 

Upon completion of the training module of Automobile NC level III, the trainee will be able to :

·         Overhaul engine

TRAINER QUALIFICATION

 

· Must be certified by DOS as a Trainer

·Must have undergone advance training on Instructional methodology

·Must be a relevant certificate holder, higher than                  Automobile NC-III

·         Must have  2-3 years working experience

·         Should have good moral character

·         *Must have at least 5years job/industry experience

(* applicable only if institutes hire instructor or guest lecturer from industry)

 ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION SYSTEM

ASSESSMENT

    Continuous Assessment :

The institute will conduct continuous assessment for each module including assignments, project works, practical test, oral questioning and written test.

The continuous assessment will have 20 percent weightage in the national assessment.

 

National Assessment:

Trainees must have 90% attendance and minimum 15.2 percent out of 20 percent in continuous/internal assessment to be eligible to seat for national assessment. Field visit is compulsory for trainees to seat for national assessment.

The Department of occupational Standard will conduct National Assessment as a summative assessment after completion of the NC- level III through which the Department will test the competency levels of each  candidate and  provide the competency level based on their performance in National Assessment as follows:

Percent 80-100 70-79.99 60-69.99 59.9 and below
Trainees who are declared not yet competent are permitted to seat for re-assessment with next batch of trainees.

CERTIFICATION

On the successful completion of every module, the institutes will award a certificate of achievement to the trainees (refer annex II). The Department of Occupational Standards will award a National Certificate to the trainees at the successful completion of each level.
